St. Mark the Evangelist High School Youth Ministry strives to empower young people to be Disciples of Christ through fun, faith, fellowship and service. It is our goal to bring teens into the life of the faith community and to enrich the spiritual and personal growth of young people. We hold social events, discipleship projects and faith sharing activities. Our leadership team is rooted in the Gospel message and dedicated to helping young people develop healthy relationships with Jesus, their friends and family.

We are always recruiting Young Adult and Adult Volunteers to join our Youth Ministry Team. If you have a passion for our Catholic faith and would like to share that faith in a loving and most rewarding atmosphere, this may the ministry that God is calling you to.

Please pray about this and if you feel that God is calling you to either of these ministries, please call MaryAnn Weigel in the Youth Office to see how you can get started!

High School Youth Ministry
Lighthouse

Our Lighthouse program is open to St. Mark High School age teens that are registered members of our St. Mark family. We meet on Sunday evenings for a Gathered Youth night. We also participate in Social Ministry projects, Church Community events, such as the Lenten Fish Fry, and Breakfast with Santa, and participate in the many retreats offered throughout the year. Registration begins in April. Click on High School for information.

Middle School Youth Ministry
Coffee House

Coffee House is a great way for Middle School youth to talk about their faith, and to learn why we believe what we do. Come join us for casual evening of faith sharing, games, snacks, activities, and testimonials by other teens, meet new people, and share your faith!
Coffee House meets on Wednesday’s at 6:30pm.  Click on Coffee House for information.

CONFIRMATION (High School)
Mary Ann Weigel
mweigel@stmarktampa.org

Confirmation is a deepening of baptismal gifts. The sacrament roots us more deeply in our identity as God's children; unites us more firmly with Christ; increases in us the gifts of the Holy
Spirit; binds us more closely to the Church; and gives us special strength to bear witness to our faith. Preparation for Confirmation is a two-year faith formation process. Therefore, teens are called each year to participate in Catholic Social Ministry Projects, service projects within our Church community, attend retreats and required classes. Click on Confirmation for information.

YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY
Mary Ann Weigel

Our Young Adult Ministry is open to anyone who is 18 and in college to 35 years old looking to socialize with other young adults. We gather monthly in fellowship whether it is a social night out, outdoor activities, Theology on Tap, or YAM [Young Adult Ministry] Tampa Bay. We have a casual forum where friends gather in local restaurants for honest conversations, and real answers about our faith and how it applies to daily life. Our group is very diverse, encompassing single and married individuals who share Catholic values and beliefs.

Please contact MaryAnn for questions pertaining to any of the Youth Ministry Programs we offer.

NCYC 2011

We were humbled by the opportunity to represent the St Mark community at the 2011 Catholic Youth Conference. We were overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and generosity of our parish family who made it possible for us to attend the conference, which was truly a chance of a life time. We are now preparing to attend  NCYC 2013.  We humbly ask you to carefully consider making a donation to Youth Ministry to help offset the cost for the teens who will be attending. On behalf of the pilgrims, their parents and Father David, our pastor, I thank you for your love and support.

Facts about NCYC:
Fact 1. The Theme for the 2011 National Youth Conference was "Call to Glory"  The National Catholic Youth Conference is an exciting, biennial three-day experience of prayer, community, and empowerment for Catholic teenagers and their adult chaperones. The schedule includes keynote addresses, prayer, workshops, liturgy, and opportunities for to participate in reconciliation and exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, recreational activities, concerts, exhibits, and an interactive thematic park.
Fact 2. Prayer is an essential component of NCYC. Through prayer, the Catholic Christian community is grounded in the Lord. The days are interwoven with various Catholic prayer forms, to give youth and adults alike, an experience of the breadth of prayer within the church.
"Hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.' Prayer, formed by the liturgical life, draws everything into the love by which we are loved in Christ and which enables us to respond to him by loving as he has loved us. Love is the source of prayer; whoever draws from it reaches the summit of prayer." (#2658 CCC).
